Smyrna Dunes Park & Dog Beach

A beautiful park north of New Smyrna that features a dog friendly beach right off the Ponce de Leon Inlet and Atlantic Ocean.

Perched on the northern tip of the New Smyrna Beach Peninsula you can find the Smyrna Dunes Park.  This Volusia County park offers miles of trails and boardwalk to walk and observe a variety of ecosystems including ocean, river, dunes, scrub zone, and saltwater marsh.  The main attraction at Smyrna Dunes Park is its dog friendly beach, however.

The lovely beach is perfect for a day out with four-legged friends.  The waters of the Ponce de Leon inlet rests between the Atlantic Ocean and Indian River and is perfect for taking a dip to cool off.  Or you can just relax on shore enjoying the sand and spectacular view of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse across the water.  Be sure to keep your eyes open for dolphins as they are a fairly common sight here.  Beyond the dog friendly beach and walking trails, this is also a great place to go fishing, and there is an observation tower to get a bird’s-eye view of the area.

Smyrna Dunes Park is located just north of New Smyrna Beach, approximately 45 minutes to an hour away from Orlando. Admission is $10 per vehicle for the day, or you can purchase an annual pass for $20.
