Solar Orbiter Rocket Launch

A rocket will blast off late tomorrow evening carrying the Solar Orbiter spacecraft.

At 11:03PM tomorrow a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas 5 rocket is scheduled to blast of from the Kennedy Space Center. The rocket is carrying the Solar Orbiter spacecraft, which is a joint venture between NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA). The Solar Orbiter will be departing on a ten year mission to study the sun, its poles, and the overall goal to learn about the heliosphere, or the bubble of the sun’s particles that extends throughout the solar system.
